Fast Natural Home Remedies to Treat Pimples11/16/2013 11:18:00 AM
Salam and hello people!
Natural remedies that are easy peasy and super budget-friendly!
Pimples. Acne. Zits. However big or small, just one of them making a cameo on our faces could instantly send us into panic mode. OMG, PIMPLE! Of course, sometimes it's not their fault for appearing. Stress, eating pimple-friendly foods and many other factors can be blamed. Fortunately, there are ways to prevent them and there are ways to zap them away! For the times when you run out of pimple gel or if you're looking for a more natural pimple cure, we've found a few simple home remedies you can try and you'll be surprised at how they're items you already have in your kitchen!
Psst... remember to use these remedies with care and in moderation. OVER-using them might make your skin worse or cause dryness.
You always hear about how eating tomatoes are great for your skin but did you know that applying it externally also works wonders? Just cut a tomato in half and rub some of the juice on the spot(s) once or twice a day! Wash it off after an hour.
They make great lemonade, but on their own, just dabbing some on a pimple could help shrink it thanks to their astringent properties. Word of caution: wash it off before heading out into the sun; it could bleach your face and make your skin extra sensitive.
3. Green tea ice cubes
While ice cubes are known to reduce swelling, freezing green tea turns it into an extra astringent power-up. Rub one over a blemish for several minutes to reduce inflammation and for antimicrobial action.
PLUS: Aloe vera can heal pimples (and MORE) too!
4. Egg white
Time to crack an egg! Use your (clean) fingertip to swipe a little of the gooey raw egg white left from the egg shell and apply it on your zits. And then, err...scramble that egg or something.
If you see the pimple head, it means it's time to dab a little honey on it and then put a band-aid over it. Go to sleep. When you wake up, it'll be smaller, or better yet, gone!
PLUS: Repair your skin while you snooze!
6. Apple Cider Vinegar
PLUS: The beauty routines you might be doing wrong!
PLUS: How much calories does your coffee really have?
While we're not THAT sure if it can really kill vampires, it can most certainly kill bacteria. Peel a garlic clove, smash it into mush and apply it (or the juice) on the blemish. Leave it for 20 mins or so, and rinse.
You've heard of the toothpaste remedy, but it turns out this mouthwash works too! Just dab it with a cotton bud and hold it there for 2 minutes before letting it air-dry OR you can rinse it off after 1 minute. However, there are two things you should note - make sure you use the original Listerine and not the other flavours, and it's best not to try this if you have sensitive skin.
